My body is in London, but my head is in the tropics

I'm living a double life.

My head is filled with plans of exposing the boys to the splendours of snorkelling and aping around with, well, apes. Meanwhile, my spare drawer is filling with the paraphernalia of travel in hot, possibly dangerous places: vaccination certificate, money belt, survival kit, mosquito net, walking trousers, new coat, new boots, new sandals; the list goes on.

But every day, I have to commute to the office, slump before my PC , and fill my brain with the minutiae of science news stories. Don't get me wrong, I like science news stories, but now I really, really want to be on a beach, please. And I still have 6 weeks to go.

Roll on August 22 and our flight to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia View Map.

  1. I got bored with my own blog, suffering from writers block I guess and decided to blog hop and came upon your blog. I'm just home in California, have not been anywhere in a long time!
Nice! Lovely journey, glad I came! Love seeing your kids enjoy the experience. Enjoy your time ( I understand what it's like to "vacation" with a laptop! There were times I ditched it devil may care!
May the rest of your journey be filled with good luck, learning and fulfillment for the whole family! Oh and your photos are wonderful! Loved the kiddie videos!:-) My 18 yr old daughter is in Jordan for the summer visiting with her cousins (I am married to a Palestinian)she has not sent me any photos even though we email everyday. She should have kept a blog like you! I would have enjoyed it so much while she is there. Oh well, that's 18. Bye now! Good luck!
